    Van Air Systems activated alumina is an aluminum oxide desiccant engineered for compressed air and gas drying, delivering dew points of -40°F to -100°F depending on dryer design. Its highly porous structure and high surface area-to-mass ratio provide exceptional moisture adsorption capacity, while uniform bead sizing minimizes channeling and ensures full utilization of the desiccant bed. High crush strength and low abrasion keep dusting minimal during loading and throughout operation, and the material is fully regenerable—with properly sized Van Air beds rated for a 2–5 year service life in regenerative drying systems. Available in three bead sizes to match your system requirements: 1/8" beads are the standard choice for most compressed air desiccant dryers, 1/4" beads serve as a pre-bed for large desiccant beds or as a buffer for silica gel beds, and 3/16" beads are suited for applications where pressure drop and surface area requirements fall between the two.
